Students Selling Val-O-Grams to Benefit Leukemia Society | Cancer ...

?? A special event has begun to take place at Hamburg High School.

?Sophomore social studies instructor Emily Wisener is sponsoring a fundraiser in which all proceeds will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

A generous group of students including Drew Perry, Deion Everhart, Jordan Roark, Cynthia Ramirez, Bailey Cannon, Annabel Gonzalez, Summer Carpenter, Kaitlyn Carpenter, Karla Soto, Tyler Stalnaker, Paige Sanderlin, Taylor Trantham, Ashley Hudson, Jessi Wilson, and Hunter Scott have volunteered to help with the fundraiser.

?Each day during lunch, val-o-grams will be sold for 50 cents and will be delivered on Valentine?s Day.

?Every Wednesday during? February, a teacher can donate $1 to receive a dress code waiver to wear blue jeans. Currently, the dress code allows staff members to only wear jeans on Friday.

Donations outside of school are also appreciated; any amount helps.

Ms. Wisener is very enthusiastic about the project. She commented, ?My aunt died of leukemia in 2004, which leads me to be very motivated to raise money to help people research for a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and other cancers.
