(AP) ? A popular Egyptian TV presenter accused of inciting the killing of the country's new president on air denied the charges at the opening of his trial on Saturday, saying the case against him was part of a political row, Egypt's state news agency reported.

The flamboyant Tawfiq Okasha, who said on air that it was permissible to shed President Mohammed Morsi's blood, has emerged over the past months as one of the most popular media personalities in the country. He denounces almost everybody? starting with the uprising that forced former President Hosni Mubarak to step down, the youth groups behind it, the military, the Freemasons and now the Islamists.

His show attracted wide viewership partially because of his personal antics where he mixes humor, rural slang and simple language with claims to have definitive information and intelligence about some of the country's most pressing issues. His attacks on the Islamists escalated after Morsi, of the Muslim Brotherhood, was declared the winner in the country's first democratic elections.

The case against Okasha is one of several lawsuits brought mainly by Egypt's Islamists against journalists, accusing them of inflammatory coverage and inciting the public against the Brotherhood, the country's largest political group.

The legal battles are drawing mixed reactions from pro-democracy groups, many of whom defend the right of free expression, denounce imprisonment of journalists and deem the Islamists' practices as repressive. Others side with the Islamists and accuse journalists facing trials of spreading propaganda in the service of former regime loyalists.

According to Egypt's Middle East News Agency, the prosecutor in the trial Saturday accused Okasha of using his TV program in July and August to incite the killing of Morsi, and of insulting him by calling him an "illegitimate leader and a liar."

Okasha denied the charges and said it was part of a political row between him and the Muslim Brotherhood group. If convicted, Okasha can face up to three years in prison.

The charges came after Okasha launched an on-air tirade against Morsi, blaming him for an Aug. 5 attack by presumed Islamic militants who killed 16 Egyptian soldiers in Sinai. Okasha warned Morsi not to attend the soldiers' funeral for his own safety. He claimed the Brotherhood and Morsi plan to kill him and retorted, "Fine, I declare it permissible to shed your blood too."

"You don't know what I have. I have beasts and lions behind me," he said, addressing Morsi and the Islamist group. "If you don't control yourselves, I'll put it all to the torch."

Okasha told reporters Saturday his comments were taken out of context and that he was responding to threats he and his mother had received. MENA said the judges postponed the trial to Oct. 3.

The station owned by Okasha, "Al-Faraeen" or "The Pharaohs," was taken off the air since the case was filed against him last month.

He entered the courthouse surrounded by hundreds of supporters. They chanted: "With our soul and blood we defend you." MENA reported that the supporters caused a raucous inside the courtroom, as some of his supporters climbed on the room's windows to watch the proceedings from outside. He first appeared in the dock but later came out to address the panel of judges.

His defense team said the plaintiffs were settling scores because of Okasha's criticism of the Islamists and of Morsi before he became president. They asked the court to summon Morsi to discuss the case.

Okasha's lawyer Khaled Suleiman said the case is invalid because it was not Morsi himself that filed the complaints. Egyptian law allows private citizens to bring criminal charges in some circumstances.

Max Scherzer Terrific Again, Detroit Tigers Beat Chicago White Sox 5-1

DETROIT -- Max Scherzer allowed four hits in eight scoreless innings, and the Detroit Tigers pulled within a game of first place with a 5-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday night.

Detroit has taken the first two games of this series from the AL Central-leading White Sox and will send Justin Verlander to the mound Sunday to try for a sweep. Scherzer (15-6) won his fifth straight start, striking out nine with one walk.

Delmon Young homered and tripled for the Tigers.

Francisco Liriano (5-11) allowed three runs, four hits and seven walks in four-plus innings. Chicago was swept in a three-game set in Detroit in July, momentarily ceding first place to the Tigers. Now the White Sox are in danger of being caught atop the division.

Scherzer increased his strikeout total to 204, becoming the first pitcher to reach 200 this year. He and Liriano are two of the three pitchers who have struck out at least 15 in a game this season. The other is Chris Sale, Chicago's starter Sunday.

Scherzer has struck out at least eight in nine straight starts.

Detroit opened the scoring with two runs in the third. Brennan Boesch, who has struggled this year but entered the game 5 for 11 lifetime against Liriano, hit an RBI triple and came home on Miguel Cabrera's single.

Young led off the Detroit fifth with a drive that hit the top of the wall in left-center and came back in play for a triple. He eventually scored on a two-out single by Avisail Garcia, the first big league hit for the right fielder.

Young's next hit ? in the seventh ? had enough distance to clear the fence for his 16th homer of the year. Cabrera added another RBI single in the eighth.

The Tigers have won 24 of their last 30 home games.

The White Sox were without slugger Adam Dunn, who was sitting out with a strained oblique.

Scherzer struck out Kevin Youkilis in the eighth for his final out, then took off his hat to acknowledge the crowd before getting a handshake from manager Jim Leyland.

Orlando Hudson hit an RBI triple off Detroit's Jose Valverde in the ninth.

NOTES: Chicago used eight pitchers. ... Scherzer lowered his ERA to 3.93. ... The White Sox entered September with a division lead for the fifth time since 1993. They ended up finishing first the other four times ? in 1993, 2000, 2005 and 2008. ... Chicago RHP Deunte Heath made his major league debut in the eighth, getting Prince Fielder to hit into a double play. ... White Sox manager Robin Ventura said LHP Hector Santiago will start Monday night against Minnesota.

Evaluating Subliminals Decoded From"digital Healing" on Health

Evaluating Subliminals Decoded From"digital Healing" on Health

This mp3 is rated as: 16KHz, sublimninals are clear and well enginnered. The evaluation is based on the fact that our subconscious is feeded by ultrasonic vibrations i.e above 16KHz (roughly speaking!). Other vibrations below 16 are considered to be debatable and fall in our conscious to judge. Our subconscious responds to ultrasonic messages. Masking messages within music on the same wave level does not reach our subconscious. To your surprise, 98% of what are available on the market as subliminal audio/Cds/mp3s... have nothing to do with the real subliminal. So the evaluation claim an mp3 as: 1. contains subliminals above 16KHz or not 2- conatins masked subliminals 3-well engineered or not 4- contains no subliminals at all Feel free to send on your audio for evaluation. Pls mention the web extracted from. We will respond back soon. Subliminal Researcher is not affiliated with any Inc. and we treat all audios the same. We evaluate and publish facts for the public to be aware of.

Apple adds Samsung's Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 10.1 to ongoing patent lawsuit

The Apple v. Samsung patent war that will seemingly never end has taken another turn today, as Apple is asking the court to add newer Samsung Galaxy hardware, including the Galaxy S III, Verizon Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 10.1 to its complaint against the Galaxy Nexus and other related devices. If you thought updated software and designs would keep these newer smartphones and tablets out of the fight -- you were wrong. Just to help you keep things straight, remember this is a separate case from the one that ended exactly a week ago with a decision in Apple's favor to the tune of more than $1 billion in damages.

At issue here are eight of Apple's utility patents that it says Samsung has infringed upon. The headliner patents at issue are '721 which covers slide to unlock, and '604, which could apply to the universal search feature Samsung has been pulling from its phones recently. Another familiar entry is the '647 patent Apple slapped HTC with in 2010, which has a vague description but applies to clicking on a phone number in an email, for example, to call it. You can read the details on each and every one in the PDF linked below, we'll be doing... anything else.

Chicago schools chief Jean-Claude Brizard said Friday he has the ?confidence of my mayor,? and Mayor Rahm Emanuel agreed that Brizard?s job isn?t at risk if teachers go on strike.

?He?s got complete confidence in me,? Brizard told a WBBM-TV reporter, responding to a report that cited a ?high-ranking education source? saying the mayor will blame Brizard if there?s a strike and let him go.

At an appearance later Friday on the South Side, Emanuel agreed, dismissing the report as ?speculation? and saying of the unnamed source, ?I speak for myself. Nobody else speaks for me.?

?He?s doing a great job, and he has my backing,? Emanuel said.

Brizard also said he remains ?hopeful? a deal with get done before Sept. 10, which Chicago Teachers Union members set Thursday as a date to walk out of classrooms.

Brizard, who was appointed by Emanuel last year to lead the nation?s third-largest district, said he spoke with his boss Thursday night.

?I intend to work for the kids in this city, and I have the confidence of my mayor and the board of education,? Brizard said.

A third of Chicago Public School students started class for the new school year on Aug. 13. The remainder report to school Tuesday.

Sept. 10 is the first day teachers could walk out.

Some 700 union delegates voted unanimously Thursday night to do so.

Brizard said contract negotiations continue, with sessions scheduled through the holiday weekend and the first week of school.

?We?ve got to make sure we?ve got thing done before the 10th,? he said. ?I?m feeling good about the fact that we can get this thing done if the adults don?t walk away from the table.?

Animal activists tap Wall Street to change farm practices

CHICAGO (Reuters) - The Humane Society of the United States has bought shares in four major financial services companies in a bid to use shareholder pressure to force two of the nation's largest pork producers to stop housing pregnant sows in gestation stalls.

The animal rights group said Thursday that its investment - a relatively small $3,000 or so worth of stock in each company, but large enough to introduce proposals during shareholder meetings - was targeted at investors in Tyson Foods Inc and Seaboard Foods, a unit of Seaboard Corp.

The group has successfully used such shareholder advocacy in the past to pressure food and agriculture companies to change corporate buying habits and production practices.

Now, the Humane Society is taking a new strategy: tell investors in the livestock industry it's a bad financial move for farmers to use this equipment.

The Humane Society said it plans to introduce shareholder proposals next year that, among other things, will point out that dozens of food retailers have vowed to eventually only buy pork from farmers and other sources that don't use gestation stalls. By not changing over to alternative animal housing, claims the group, Tyson and Seaboard are putting their lucrative contracts with these customers at risk.

McDonald's, the nation's top hamburger chain by sales, vowed in May that its U.S. business would only buy pork from farmers and other sources that do not use gestation stalls for housing their pregnant sows by 2022. Such stalls are used to confine sows during the breeding and post-birth process.

"We've tried talking with and they refuse to make any progress," said Humane Society food policy director Matthew Prescott.

So the Humane Society decided to put the pressure on in a less-direct route and press its case with Tyson investors: JP Morgan Chase, the biggest U.S. commercial and investment bank by assets; BlackRock, the world's biggest asset manager; Jennison Associates, a subsidiary of Prudential Financial, the second-largest U.S. life insurer; and Ameriprise Financial, a financial services company.

BlackRock also is a leading investor in Seaboard, Prescott said.

Tyson Foods told Reuters in an email that it is committed to humane animal treatment at all stages of food production, and expects the same from those farmers who supply products to it.

"We buys hogs from thousands of family farms, many of whom use gestation stalls for mother pigs and some of whom have group or pen housing. Experts believe both housing systems are humane for mother pigs when managed properly," the company said in its statement.

"We are continuously monitoring the demands and preferences of our customers and their consumers regarding this topic and will work to respond to their needs as efficiently as possible," the company said.

Seaboard Foods, the nation's third-largest pork producer, could not be reached for comment. A spokesman for JP Morgan Chase declined to comment. None of the other financial services firms could be reached for comment.

The move marks the latest salvo in the war over how food is produced in the United States, with farmers and agribusiness on one side and food safety groups and animal-rights organizations on the other.

The Humane Society and other activists say their goal is to pull back the curtain on the nation's food supply, and are using undercover videos shot at farms, social media campaigns and shareholder activism to prompt the food and agricultural industries to change.

The campaign has been increasingly successful in recent years: Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture temporarily shut down a California slaughterhouse after undercover video showed cows being mistreated during the slaughtering process.

Gestation crates are typically metal enclosures, about 7 feet long and 2 feet wide, in which a breeding sow is housed for much of her adult life.

Pork producers say these enclosures are necessary to protect young piglets from being crushed by larger animals, and to keep sows from fighting as they often will when housed together in larger pens. Animal rights groups say such stalls are too small and constitute inhumane treatment of the animals.
